How We Plan Your river Cruise

From First Call to Safe Return Home

Planning a river cruise is a big decision and I want to make sure we get it right. Each river cruise company does things differently when it comes to food quality, excursions, inclusions, vibe, entertainment, experience, stateroom choices, and land extensions before and after the river cruise. My job is to make sure you feel confident every step of the way of planning your river cruise: from our very first conversation to the moment you come safely home.

Here's Exactly How I Work

Step 1: CONSULTATION

The first thing I want to do is get to know you.

I don't send quotes right away. What worked for your friend may not be the right fit for you and the differences between river cruise lines really do matter. We start with a complimentary one-on-one call by Google Meet or Zoom so I can understand what you're looking for before I start researching. It's also a chance for you to get a feel for how I work before you commit to anything.

STEP 2: PLANNING FEE

When you're ready to move forward, we become partners

I'll send over my planning fee invoice and a profile form. My planning fee is $25 per person for river cruises and it covers all the research, your custom comparison spreadsheet, and the personal walkthrough video I create for every client. The majority of my compensation comes from the river cruise line after you travel. The planning fee simply protects the time it takes to do this right.

STEP 3: RESEARCH

This is where I go to work for you.

I use my firsthand experience across 13 river cruises and six cruise lines plus my certifications with every major river cruise company. I do a deep dive into cruise lines, ships, itineraries, cabin categories, and current offers, then build a custom comparison of your top three and record a personal walkthrough video for each one. I give you the honest pros and cons.

STEP 4: PROPOSAL

I build your custom proposal.

After you've chosen your top option, I build your custom proposal. I use a specialized program to create a full quote and itinerary, then record a personal walkthrough video going line by line over everything, what's included, what's not, and the stateroom I selected for you and why. My goal is for you to feel completely confident before you approve anything.

STEP 5: APPROVAL

You review, ask questions, and approve.

Nothing moves forward until everything looks exactly right to you. Watch the video, ask any questions you need. I was a teacher, so questions are always welcome. When you're ready, you'll approve the proposal and authorize the deposit. Everything is handled securely through Tern.

STEP 6: BOOKING

I handle the booking.

Once you give the green light, I take care of everything. I handle the official booking, apply your deposit with the river cruise line, and walk you through your trip protection options.

STEP 7: AFTER BOOKING

My job isn't done until you come safely home.

Once you're booked, you'll have access to the Tern app, your itinerary, documents, and reservations organized in one place. I'll add a personalized packing list and destination guides for every port so you're fully prepared before you leave.

Questions along the way? Just ask. We'll go over excursion options together when they become available, and I'll schedule a final meeting before your departure. Behind the scenes, I'm tracking your flights and touching base with hotels. You have direct access to me before and during your trip because you're not a number to me, and I want to make sure this river cruise is everything you hoped for.
